  1. producers:  algae - unicellular (phtyoplankton & benthic diatoms), and multicellular (seaweeds)

    primary consumers:  zooplankton, barnacles, snails, some crabs, amphipods, mussels, clams, sea cucumbers, polychaetes, sea urchins, anemones, jellyfish and all the other animals that filter/suspension/deposit feed/graze.

    secondary consumers:  small fish, some crabs, sea stars, and all the other animals that prey on the smaller animals, including baleen whales that filter out krill and sea turtles that eat jellyfish.

    tertiary consumers:  larger fish, sea otters, dolphins, seals, sea birds

    highest level consumers:  killer whales, largest sharks

    scavengers: snails, crabs, lobsters, amphipods, some polychaetes

    decomposers: bacteria
