The other day I read that jogging non-stop for 30 minutes is not as good as running for 10 mintues and stopping and running again for 10 minutes and stopping and etc. Is this true? I want to jog and want to know the best way to do it. Can someone with jogging knowledge please give me advice???

  1. well u just have to use as much speed as you would running in order to work the same muscles. if not then other muscles are being used and it may not use as many calories....

  2. It depends on what you want to accomplish.  Aerobic training is best done at a slower pace over a longer period of time, for example, running 30 minutes at a pace that is fast enough to increase your heart rate but slow enough to allow you to carry on a conversation while running.  On the other hand, if you are trying to increase your pace, you may be better off running faster for 10 minutes, resting and running for ten more minutes.  The best combination of both is to run intervals, where you run for a few minutes, increase your speed for a few minutes, then slow down again.

  3. It's true. Running for 10 minutes then walking, then picking it back up again is more beneficial because you'll burn more calories. When you are walking and then all of a sudden break into a 10-minute run, it shocks your body in a sense and in return burns more.

But jogging for 30 minutes is still a great cardio workout.

And if you're a beginner at this, jogging is a little easier than running for 10 minutes straight.

Pick an area around your neighborhood with flat ground and hills, and jog the flat ground, speed walk up the hills.

great cardio and tones your legs!

[ps] dont forget to stretch. very important.

  4. uhh.. its joging, your not making a thermonuclear bomb. Just jog.. chill bro

  5. OK, since I do not know the details, I will try and give an overall answer.

For endurance & stamina: Jog longer without breaks

For power & muscle strength: Sprint for 10 min & walk/jog for 5 min.

For normal fitness: Run normally without stressing yourself for 20min then jog for 5min and then run back normally for 20min more then back to 5min cool down.

Make sure your legs & knees are strong enough to do this.

  6. no

  7. ok

  8. 30 minutes of continuous exercise is the same as 3 sessions of 10 minutes each.  Neither one is better than the other.  I prefer to do it all at one time.

  9. Hrm.

Why don't you make your own study.

    Everyones body is different.

one day, try jogging non stop for 30 mintues.

    Then,

another day, do the sets of ten.

See which one works best with your body. =]

Ive personally heard the sets of ten work better.

    but, not sure for certain.

    Good luck =]
