Does anyone know the effects of Winstrol Steroids in horses?

  1. In my first link below, one vet says it helps build lean body mass and inhibits the breakdown of muscle protein in debilitated animals.

    In the second link another vet says the real use of anabolic steroids (such as Winstrol) is not to put on muscle mass but to allow the horses to stay “focused” and maintain an appetite in face of hard training.

    In the third link it says the manufacturer's label on Winstrol (also known as Stanozolol) says it's used "to improve appetite, promote weight gain, and increase strength and vitality".

    I also searched for it's side effects but got conflicting information.  Some sites said it has virtually no ill side effects, others said it has only mild ill side effects, while others said it can adversely effect fertility in breeding animals.
