Does anyone know the elephant ears recipie from the Wild Waves theme park in Federal Way,Washington? I would accept anyhting close to it also. It has to be that very soft and yummy dough. I wanna know because they replaced the elephant ears with funnel cakes. = (

Please, any help will be gratefull.

  1. I hear ya....elephant ears are way better than funnel cakes.  I've never been where you wrote, but in the northeast we call them fried dough and it's the same thing as elephant ears, so what I suggest should work the same.  

    I'll give you a short cut.  I make them like this.  Look in your frozen food section at the supermarket for frozen bread dough.  Here, they come in 3 to a package and they are about  4 inches wide by about 7 inches long.  You put them in a pan to defrost and rise before baking.  But instead of baking, once they rise, pull chunks off, stretch them out by hand  to form a circle, then place them in a frying pan of oil.  Flip over to cook both sides.  Just takes a couple minutes each side.  Take them out and cover with butter, powdered sugar or cinnamon or whatever you like on them.  Mine come out just like at the festivals.  :)

    I imagine any bread dough will work, if you want to make bread dough by scratch.  I think Pillsbury has bread dough in those cardboard rolls, but I haven't tried making them with those.
