  1. As mentioned, they secrete adrenaline. But what wasn't mentioned - and I think it's a useful bit of information - the heart actually uses adrenaline to pump.

  2. helps the body during balance ,trouble and everyday activities

  3. The adrenal medulla (the inside core) secretes epinephrine=adrenaline and norepinephrine.

The adrenal cortex secretes mineralocorticoids like aldosterone, glucocorticoids like cortisol, and s*x hormones, or as we learned it in medical school, the adrenal cortex is sweeter as you go in.

  4. secrete: adrenaline

function: prepares body for actions like running, fighting

  5. They are chiefly responsible for regulating the stress response (fight or flight). They are located above the kidneys, and secrete adrenaline and cortisol.

The adrenaline speeds your body up by boosting the supply of oxygen and glucose to the brain and muscles, while suppressing other non-emergency bodily processes (digestion).

The cortisol helps slow the body down after stress (restores homeostasis in the body.)

  6. I think their main purpose is administrating adrenaline in to

your system!!! I have a feeling they also administer hormone

balance to a small degree along with your other major

glands.  I know the glands work directly with your brain and

the reaction is automatic,, meaning you can't control its

    action!!! Does that Help!!!

  7. Adrenal (suprarenal) glands are located on the superior pole of each kidney. Each one of them weighs about 4 grams and has 2 distinct layers cortex and medulla.

The cortex secrte hormones called corticosteriods which are derived from cholesterol. Adrenal cortex has 3 zones .

1- Zona glomerulosa which secrete aldosterone resposible for maintaing electrolytes concentration NA andK .

2- Zona Fascularis secretes glucocorticoids as cortisol which is important in metabolism and immunity syatem.

3- Zona retcularis secretes adrenal androgen which is converted into testosterone and responsible for pubic and axillary hair in females.

Adrenal medulla froms 20% of the glands and secrete catcholamine ( dopamine, epinephrine and norepinephrine) for sypmathetic stimulation.
