  1. I believe you are inquiring about Michelangelo BUONAROTI

Painter, Sculptor and Architect of Florence 1475-1564

    Bologna, 1494-1495

Statuettes of " St Petronius," " St Proculus," and a " Kneeling Angel," marble; part of the decorations of the shrine of St Dominic in the church of that saint at Bologna: the style of all three much influenced by the work of Jacopo della Quercia in the same church; the attitude of the kneeling angel with the candelabrum imitated from an ancient bas-relief.

Niccolò added the delicate Candlestick-holding Angel on the left side of the altar slab, below the sarcophagus, while the one on the right side with its youthful strength is by Michelangelo. Michelangelo was paid thirty ducats by his patron Francesco Aldovrandi.

When the Medici were driven out of Florence, "Michelangelo left for Bologna... Gianfrancesco Aldovrandi took Michelangelo to see the tomb of St Dominic...There were two figures missing; an angel holding a candelabrum and a St Petronius, both about two feet high...Aldovrandi had the marble given to Michelangelo, who executed the two figures..."
