Does anyone know the history of Stoney Creek Metropark?

If you walk the trials at West Branch Area F there is a spot back there with the foundation of an old house. Then there are steps that lead to this area that has 40 foot pine trees lined in two rows. In the middle of the row is a concrete table. Just sitting there. Very unsettleying feeling down there. I wanted to find out the history of this area.

I personally don't have the answer but you might try talking to someone at the Stoney Creek Nature Center.  People who work in the park systems are generally trained in the history of their area if they don't already know it.
