Does anyone know the law for Kansas on gift taxes on vehicles?

I am inheriting a vehicle from my grandparents is it better to report it as a gift or that it was sold to me?

You cannot report it as either, because you need the previous owner to sign the title before you can register a car that was a purchase or a gift.  Since they are dead, they cannot sign.  Therefore, your only way to register the car is to report it as an inheritance.
