I cannot find the answer to this wuestion anywhere. I at first, thought it was 14 and 9 months, but then a friend told me that the law had changed in Brisbane or Queensland to 13 and 9 months. Can anyone clear this up for me?

  1. well...i am 17 so probably a little out of touch, but i think the age is still 14 and 9 months. sorry.

and, previous poster, shut up, you have no idea what you're talking about.

it is not illegal to work under the age of 18. you really have no idea.

  2. This is off the Official website - Department of Employment and Industrial Relations: so you know it's true and correct.

The general minimum age is 13 years for children starting work, although children from 11 years of age may perform delivery work including for items such as newspapers and advertising leaflets.

Parental consent is required for school-aged  and young children  to work. Children are not allowed to work when they should be at school.

  3. The answer to this question is 14 years and 9  months. The legal age for work differs from different states. In WA the legal age for work sometimes even begins at 10! However, in most states, Queensland (Brisbane) and SA, the age is 14 years and 9 months. If you are only 14 years old and would like to work then you would need a your parents permission to start working earlier.Quite sure thats right! Hope i helped :)

  4. 18 yrs of age is the legal way of having a job. Anything below that is called child labor and is against the law. But i'm assuming that your question is related to your dog walking business so in that case, i think you could probably work it out.
