Mahzna Naima

Mah-Z-Na. I am going to a baby dedication and would like to bring a gift the signifies the baby, but I cant find this name anywhere. I am not sure what heritage it is from.

Her husband is American Pakistani and she is American, Chinese and Arabic. (I know strange mix). I searched all of the heritages and cant find a meaning, but maybe someone has heard of it before she says it is a common name. However, it's my first time ever hearing it.

I found Naima which means Delight in Arabic, but not Mahzna.

Any help is appreciated

  1. sorry, I looked on google, and the only thing that came close to Mahzna, was Madonna.

  2. I have a book that has pretty much every name you can imagine on it, and this name isn't in it. Maybe they just made it up.

  3. Mahzna is the feminine of Mazin, which is a very popular Arabic name. Unfortunately, no one I know can tell me its meaning. However, check out this link for a possible explanation.

Naima can also mean provision from God. So taken together, the names have the sense of abundant blessing.

    Best wishes!

  4. I thought the spelling looked weird... are you sure it's not Maznah? Which is a Muslim name that means "Glorious".

  5. It means "perineum" in my culture.

  6. It seems to be a mix of a few names.

Mah means the moon in Farsi and Urdu. Alot of Persian/Farsi and Urdu/Pakistani names start with Mah to reflect the beauty of the moon.

I think best is to ask the mom what the name means or how they chose it. But Mah definitely means the moon.

    All the best :)
