Does anyone know the name of a game I recently played?

It was a wooden felt-lined box with pegs on a dowel at one end numbered 1 to 10. You had to roll the dice in the box and knock down any combination of pegs equal to the rolled dice. Whatever pegs were left standing were added up and that was the player's score. The lowest score won. Of course we put in a couple of dollars for each round and the winner won the "pot". I would love to get this game for the holidays. The person who had the game said she got it in Vermont but did not know the name of it.

I'd appreciate any help you can give.

Thanx,

  1. The game goes by many different names, commonly "Shut the Box" or often "Captain's Box."  It's also sometimes known as "Clapper" or "Cover-Up."

You can get a very nice version here: http://www.nobleknight.com/productdetail...

    A 2 player version here: http://www.unclesgames.com/product_info....

Or a fairly basic version, here:  http://www.areyougame.com/interact/item....
