Does anyone know the name of the tree that produces the "fuzzies" that look like dandelions?

  2. It sounds like cottonwood to me.

    I remember a story about someone who parked a car under a slippery elm and downwind from a cottonwood at a time of year when both were doing their respective things. He wound up driving something that looked like a sheep.

  3. I'll add my vote for cottonwood.  

    The third answer gives some other trees that do produce "fuzzies"; but for snow-drift volumes of the stuff, it's got to be a cottonwood.
