Does anyone know the origin of Buttermilk and Cornbread?

  2. I can speak about this as it refers to what Southerners did many years ago. Since ice and refridgerators were scare , milk would not keep long and people found that it was a meal that would fill you up and stick to your ribs. I enjoy it at least once a week, but using fresh milk.
