I'm a US citizen but my sisters were born in Ethiopia and are not. I want to bring them here and live with me in Florida, but the S**t seems complicated as h**l. I'm an OEF and OIF disabled veteran and I just want my sisters here with me. How do I go about doing it?

  1. It's not particularly complicated but is a lengthy process, especially for siblings, as their priority class is the last.

This document will outline the process:

    http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/A1.pd...

This is the form you need:

    http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-130.pd...

These are the instructions to that form:

    http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-130ins...

And this is the Department of State's visa bulletin for July 2008:

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bullet...

If you look at the table, it says September 1st, 1997 for 4th family preference (siblings), which means the first applicant to get a visa next month is a person who applied on September 1st, 1997. Meaning the wait time is, as someone else pointed out, about 11 years currently. That's about how long your sisters will have to wait.

  2. if your mom or dad were once us citizens your sisters should be able to come here faster than 7 or more years. =]

But if they weren't then you have to wait a really long time!!!!!!!

  3. You file an I-130, I-864 and G-325A for each of them with the USCIS.  Siblings of US citizens are priority 4.  Right now the wait for a visa is just over 11 years.

You can find the forms here.....

    http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/m...

  4. file the form i-130 and be ready to wait about 7-9 years.  more info at www.usics.gov
