Does anyone know the quickest way?

Question

to get from Glasgow to Kagyu Samye Ling Tibetan Centre? Without a car, unfortunately it's in for repairs and I've made a promise to take someone a visit there.

If it's by train, which station, if it's by bus, same thing? I know it's close to Lockerbie, but I'm hoping there's an easier way?

Samye Ling is situated in  Eskdalemuir in South West Scotland, 15 miles from Lockerbie.

You can get a train from Glasgow central to Lockerbie with no changes depending on what time. The travelling time is round about 2 hours.

The fares for a single ticket is £6 per adult.

Once you arrive in Lockerbie there is a bus and taxi service to Eskdalemuir.

or alternatively which would probably be more expensive..

Take the train to Lockerbie. Glasgow goes to Carlisle directly and the fare is £14.40 for one way per adult. There are rail and bus connections between Carlisle and Lockerbie.

However, the distance between Carlisle and Lockerbie is just another trek to get up to Eskdalemuir. Its easier and cheaper to go with my first suggestion.

Also, i would recommend booking a taxi or bus up to Eskdalemuir. And for a taxi, expect to be forking out £15-20.
