  1. 20/20 hit the nail on the head. Sportbikes don't putt very well. I did a veteran run once, I had to keep pulling in the clutch because my bike wont go that slow even idling in first gear, plus it is beyond boring. I ride my bike not to be seen on, but for the mix of man and machine strafing the twisties. Sure these are good causes, but for me sportbikes belong riding the curves well beyond 7 mph.

  2. I'm in the south... pickup country... so the overwhelming majority are HD and some cheaper cruisers... few sports... but it should be mentioned they are welcome. FYI Bill, there are 15 models of HD for under 15,000.00.

  3. Thank God every sport bike rider is not like you , ninegaythings, except maybe Joe b.

  4. I think it was 75% Harley's at the last one I did

  5. Depends event to event...

I have ridden some cancer rides where a few REALLY BIG sport bike clubs showed up and the Sportbikes out numbered Cruisers over all, not just Harleys but ALL cruisers on a ratio of 2/1

I have rode in other events where it was only me and 10 others on our rockets.

  6. I also agree the question would be better if you had said cruiser compared to crotch rocket. cruiser 60-80%+ most of the time. Sports bikes{riders} aren't really built to putt around in slow chairty rides, they are welcome of course. These rides can be slow with many stops not really the kind of riding sports bike people care for. It's still good to see/meet all types of riders and their ride, especially when it is going to a good cause.

  7. i would say the question should be cruisers versus sport bikes. There are a lot more cruisers. there are alot a people that have Japanese cruisers instead of harleys due to cost

  8. In Texas it's 90% on Harleys or Cruisers to 10% Sport Bike riders, just go and have fun....It''s all about having fun a "THE BIKE" not the type of bike.

  9. The fact that HOG chapters organize a lot of those events has a big impact  on who attends.

  10. I have never ridden in one where the sport bikes were even close to the Harley's. Not even 1/2

  11. The last one I did was about 400 bikes (March of Dimes Bikers for Babies). There were maybe 3 or 4 sport bikes out of the entire 400 and probably 20 or so non-Harley standard or cruiser bikes.

  12. yeah, its mostly harleys, but don't let that discourage you from showing up.  the ones i go to have very few sport bikes, but everyone respects everyone at that kind of thing

  13. Im going to guess around 20 percent. And a bunch of the non HD are WISHING they had one.  No not me, I had mine. Harley sells a lot of bikes, most for over 20K. It is amazing, really.( I ride a Wing and Wouldn't trade). A parade of Wings isn't going to attract much of a crowd I fear,

  14. I guess I would rather just throw my toy in the bin at the mall and not have to go listen to a bunch of old farts and young posers bragging about thier two wheeled tractors.

So if every sport bike rider was like me, it would be 100-0.
