Does anyone know the sentencing guidelines for first time offender charged for domestic violence?

Well the maximum penalty on a misdemeanor is one year. So it would be a year at the very most, assuming it is just a misdemeanor.

I think in most jurisdictions a judge would probably sentence a first time DV offender to probation. That is assuming that it is just plain old Domestic Violence and not aggravated or involving any type of injuries.

You would have to ask a lawyer though because I am not an attorney and not qualified to answer.
