I know of many families who have adopted children from China and Korea but of nobody who has adopted from Japan, Nepal, India. I'm curious as to what regulations these countries have that are not conducive to foreign adoption?

  1. call the foreign embassy and find out they can help you the only thing you can do is ask. but remember this country has alot of kids and those from overseas well they have some big issures some sleep on floors and there are things that are special to be gone before they are comforatbale with you.

  2. I believe Japan only allows international adoption to families that have at least one parent who is of Japanese ancestry.  The Nepal program is having a lot of trouble right now, I wouldn't get involved in it right now.  India is a fairly stable program, but I'm not all that informed about it.

  3. I've been researching adoption and every country has different regulations.  For instance in Nepal you must be married for 5 years and both parents have to be over 30...you also have to have written documentation of infertility.  Haven't seen much on Japan.  In China almost only girls are available for adoption.  India is much the same, although there are some boys.
