  1. She made a powerful statement and people despise it because of the color of her skin. Just think of the original lyrics to the song: "... land of the free..." - well, her ancestors weren't, and she, like all blacks, reap the effects of that and have it trickle down on them all their lives. More power--black power!--to this fearless woman. God bless.

I know the young woman was hired (as in she got paid) to sing the National Anthem and without telling anyone she sang the other song.  She thought it was a pretty song.  Frankly, in my opinion, she broke her contract and should not get paid.  The people who hired her should have pulled her butt right off the stage.
