Does anyone know the title of these books?

Question

the book is about aliens that come to earth and end up looking like how the devil is described. But they aliens aren't evil, in fact they help out the human race a lot with world peace, disease cures, and that good stuff, but after so many years all the kids on earth start developing supernatural powers and it turns out the 'aliens' work for an overlord and he wants all of the kids and earth has to get blown up, i can't remember the reason why and i can't remember what it's called. The other one is a wizardy book, almost like a harry potter knock off, except over longer periods of time, it talks about one really young powerful wizard in one book, and in another he's the headmaster. very vague i know. any help would be great and thanks.

not sure about the alien one but could the wizard book be the septimus heap series? the books are magyk, flyte, physik and queste? thats about a wizard who's really powerful and destined to be the 'head' wizard of the town/city
