I've look on youtube and some forums just to see the game, how it looks ect. but I have heard so many rumors about it.j

One is that Zipper is making the next "true" installment which is ment to have a single player and online play with bigger maps ect.\

another is that the new socom is comfconfrontationd that Slant 6 has title rights now; and zipper is working on somthing called MAG.

I've tryed looking around on the internet for websityes and proof but can't find any.

So I've come to the last source that can get the answers I need/want.

  1. A bunch of things have changed about Socom since they were announced last year.

Sony bought Zipper and it's Sony that "owns" the Socom franchise.  Zipper is now a subsidary of Sony.  Sony contracted the work to Slant 6 to develop the next Socom called Socom: Confrontation.  Slant 6 also developed a couple PSP versions of Socom.

It was announced last year that Confrontation was going to be an online only game to give Zipper time to develop the next full-version of Socom.  That has changed though and this might have caused confusion from the rumors you described.

Since Sony delayed the relase of Confrontation by about a year from when they first announced, they changed plans.  Confrontation is the only Socom game that has any confirmed information about being developed.  There's no confirmation about any other Socom game right now.

Zipper is working on a new game that has a working title of MAG.  It is not Socom.  According to the info released during E3 a few months back, MAG can have up to 256 people playing on the same map with helicopters and other vehicles.

  2. I heard Sony bought SOCOM from zipper due to its success, and so zipper were out of the picture.
