Does anyone know the value of Korean coins brought back from the Korean War?

My mother's second husband was a US soldier who earned a purple heart during the Korean War. He passed away many years ago and we have recently come across several coins that he brought back with him during his time served. We are curious if they are of any value for insurance purposes. Thanks!

  1. I don't know the value off hand, but I can suggest a reference book that is probably in the reference section of most larger public libraries: the Standard Catalog of World Coins, 1901-2000, published by Krause Publications. It is the same reference book that most coin dealers use.
