I am planning on doing the Inca Trail which starts in the capital Lima, then eventually takes you to Machu Picchu high in Andes

  1. peru has diverse weather conditions due to the andes mountains so it could depend which part of peru

these 2 sites should give you some information which could be useful to you:

    http://www.adventure-life.com/peru/peru_...

Edit: it will be the dry season so i would expect hot humid days and cool nights when you start off and and when you get nearer the andes expect the days to stay hot but less humid and the nights to get a lot colder(can be very cold).

but be prepared for rain too because the weather can be unpredictable there

  2. Which part of Peru - it is larger than Europe - deserts north and south on the coast; inland what altitude; Andean mountains or Amazonian rain forest?

  3. Don't do it...........It's cold, cold, COLD. I'm here in Lima and we are freezing ourselves every morning. From April to October the weather it's abosutely cold. Well, I've never been in Machu Picchu but my sister who has been there says that it rains like if you were in the shower, and it hails.

    Any Inca trail worth it.

  4. Winter, because it's in the southern hemisphere. I went there in July, and I wore pants most of the time. It was not the rainy season, either. I went into the rainforest, and it didn't even rain once over the 3 day period!
