Does anyone know this board game is?

its like played on a chess board and 1 guy has his pieces in one corner and da otha guy has his pieces in his corner, and the objective of the game is to get to other side of the board. i played it wit my uncle like when i was at his house couple days ago, and dont know the name of it, please help.
