Does anyone know this filapino resipe?

not sure about the spelling: Lumpia...

as a kid.my husband had filapino friends whos mom made something called "lumpia" he has no idea what its made of but says its really good... anyone have any idea what it is? or even better, how to make it?

  1. Was it fresh? Or deep fried?

    Its like a spring roll/egg roll.. or whatever.

    I personally like the fresh lumpia, its healthier and yummier than the deep fried ones.

    Its spelt filipino by the way. Sorry


  2. I think it's HYSTERICAL that this recipe got the thumbs down considering I am 1/2 Filipino. I listed an inside recipe and not one CUT & PASTED off of the internet. ROFLMAO

  3. i love lumpia!  it's kinda like a spring roll.  this is the recipe i use.

    1 tablespoon vegetable oil

    1 pound ground pork

    2 cloves garlic, crushed

    1/2 cup chopped onion

    1/2 cup minced carrots

    1/2 cup chopped green onions

    1/2 cup thinly sliced green cabbage

    1 teaspoon ground black pepper

    1 teaspoon salt

    1 teaspoon garlic powder

    1 teaspoon soy sauce

    30 lumpia wrappers

    2 cups vegetable oil for frying

    you can also make banana lumpia...it's delicious!  search banana lumpia in google.  good luck and aloha!

    Lumpiang Prito

    Lumpiang Prito literally means fried spring roll. It consists of a briskly fried pancake filled with bean sprouts and various other vegetables such as string beans and carrots. Small morsels of meat or seafood may also be added. Though it is the least expensive of the variants, the preparation – the cutting of vegetables and meats into appropriately small pieces and subsequent pre-cooking – may prove taxing and labor-intensive. This variant may come in sizes as little as that of lumpiang shanghai or as big as that of lumpiang sariwa. It is usually eaten with vinegar and chili peppers, or a soy sauce-and-calamondin juice mixture known as toyo-mansi.
