Does anyone know to stop lint from collecting on your clothes in the washer?

My washing machine has a built in lint collector but it doesn't seem to work. All my dark colored clothes are unwearable due to the lint. Does anyone have any ideas? HELP PLEASE!!! THANKS

The lint filter has to be cleaned out before every time you use the washing machine. Make sure there are no tissues/recipts/papers in anyones pockets. (tissues are the biggest killer), Take out anything fluffy like new towels and try it again.

Adding half a cup of white vinegar should help. Although I had a HE set and it covered my clothes with lint and I never figured out how to stop it. I returned the set before the year was up. If yours is a standard top loader with an agitator give the vinegar a shot and it will probably work.
