Since I just recently asnswered the same exact question from another poster here is your answer.

There are places you can rent camcorders. They used to rent these at Black's Camera - you may want to check if they still do. Also many of the small camera shops still do.

Their rental rates seem pretty expensive - almost the same as if you purchased one though.
