Does anyone know what Olympic 9 ball is?

I was reading an article that made a reference to it and how it is a great game when practicing alone, but there were no other details. Hope somebody can help.

Olympic 9 ball is the exact same rules and play as american 9 ball, they changed the name because its going to be in the olymps.

I am not 100% sure, but I have heard rumors that they may be adding pool to one of the Olympic sports.
