Hi everyone. Thanks a lot for your time. I am trying to find out the exact passage or page(s) where Sir William Slim gave a very interesting perspective of 'experience'.
Sir William Slim was a Field Marshal and in this book he wrote about asking for a volunteer or volunteers to do something. Apparently one man immediately agreed to do it, saying that he was 'experienced' enough to do it or something to that effect. To this Sir William Slim replied that although a donkey may have the 'experience' of carrying supplies to the front lines of battle and back 40 times, the donkey is still a donkey.
I'm unsure of the exact explanation or the contents of this narration, but i am hoping that someone here might know exactly where it is. I just heard of this today and I've called up a 2 local bookstores but this book isn't available in either one of them. Hopefully one of you can tell me where in which chapter or what page or where I might find the contents of this very unusual but true concept of experience. THAAAAAAAAAANK YOUUUUUUUUUU.
Thanks and best wishes to all,
