I obtained a cashier postion and will tell them I am pregnant at orientation. Do they allow any additonal breaks, ect. I dont expect paid leave or anything like that. I am just concerned about the amount of time on my feet.

  1. I wouldn't tell them until after 3 months. They could fire you and make up a reason.  You'd better get paid leave you are entitled to it.  You are not being dishonest by not telling them at this point. You will not get extra breaks. They would likely let you go.

  2. Nope the same breaks as everyone else. However though your already hired so now they cant use the pregnancy to not hire you! Hope you have a nice manager and cm that are understanding. When I worked at Meijer's with my second they could care less if I was about to Ralph! I actually had a manager tell me to get sick in the lane trash can! I had horrible morning sickness too. Luckily I never followed direction well and did what I wanted! I was a high end cashier that they wouldn't fire though so I could get away with a lot. This time around with my third I'm being a stay at home mom. Fun fun fun!

  3. You won't get any special breaks.  Tell them whenever you want they can't fire you.  You won't get paid maternity leave because you won't have been there a year.
