  1. Dream on!

Your local fish store will never buy from their customers. They buy from their wholesalers and in bulk. And if they buy from you, and that's a big "IF", it's usually at a very, very low price.

yeah, and they don't care if it's hand-raised or tenderly, lovingly raised...

  2. Well, if you can find a local pet store that will buy from you...you will get the whole sale price of what they usually pay or less.

WHY, you ask...well mainly it is a risk and liability to buy fish from someone other than an established whole sale business who usually has insurance if the fish become sick or get other fish sick after the transaction.

Also, there is no guarantee from you as there is from the major breeders out there.  Chains will not buy from independent contractors...and if a local "mom and pop" pet store do, then you are lucky to get .50 cents to $1 a fish...they usually sell for about $2-$3 here in SE Texas...so they are in it for the profit and aren't going to go over their budget cause they were local.

Start talking to friends and give em to friends with tanks.  If ya sell them, if something happens to the tank and other fish do happen get sick and die, you could be liable.

    Best of Luck!

  3. how can a fish be "hand raised"?

  4. Depends where you are Debi. A more expensive independent fish store where I am in Canada charges a couple dollars for each Albino Cory which are quite readil available around here ($2-$3.50 w/Tax). I would assume they're cheaper in the U.S. but that's all depending which state you're from
