  1. for both of them it can run anywhere from from 5-600 hundred bucks depending on where you get it doe at,these days you can get aftermarket ones installed that come with a lifetime warranty on them for about 500 for both of them, most muffler shops can get these for you, they work as good, and usually cost half of what the dealer originals cost, good luck.

  2. i payed around $125.00 for mine, counting labor, but of course it was a universal type cat. converter, but it works good.

  3. Hi Cupcake.I'm assuming your check engine light is on (with codes P0420 / P0430).As you know the genuine Toyota converter is very pricey (but covered under Federal emmission warranty for 8 years / 80,000 miles which ever occurs first).Look in yellow pages under "muffler shops" and get some prices (my guess $400-$600).Try the smaller independent shops-stay away from from the Midas & Meineke shops.

  4. most times when a p0420 light comes on you only need a downstream oxygen sensor.  if your car is running fine then odds are that this is your problem. the downstream oxygen sensor monitors how well your converter is working. in my experience Toyota converters are usually that price to replace even at Midas. get a second opinion from a reliable trusted shop before you go changing unneeded parts

  5. Is there a possibility that your car has less than 80,000 miles on it?

Your converter should be under full warranty for that.

Generally the warranty will cover parts and labor.
