I found a job on monster called a remote pilot operator. The description wasn't very clear but it sounds to me its a person used to train controllers. The remote pilot operator responds to the controllers as a pilot would and simulates corresponding aircraft movement.

I've seen atc training stations before, they are computers with complex software with voice recognition, isn't that how the training is done? I guess my real question is: Is this a real job or some made up scam job?

If it is real, does anyone know what the pay is like?

  1. It could be a drone controller-as opposed to UAV operator.  These are full-sized aircraft used for targets, and radar work among other things.

Most people who do that, have time in the original aircraft-or at least were former military pilots/navs.
