Does anyone know what a spirit joining ceremony is?

My dad is getting married Saturday. They are having a spirit joining ceremony. They were to be married by a spirit guide but he backed out on them. His bride to be called and asked me to perform the ceremony. (I can perform marriages in the state of Florida) I have to write vows for them and I have no idea what to say. I have searched internet and have been unable to find anything on this. Any information would appreciated.

Thank you

  1. Isn't that some sort of Native American ceremony?

I don't know much about those.  And once when I asked a question here about a particular aspect of a ceremony I got royally reamed.  Seems the Native Americans are very protective of their ceremonies & do not appreciate others performing their rites.  Good luck in finding what you need.

BTW, why did the other guy back out?  And why hasn't your father's bride told you what it is?

  2. Have them tell you exactly what they want. My first impression was that they are just being hippy-dippy about it and it sounds nice and spiritual but non religious to them even though it doesn't carry much meaning to other people, though I could be wrong. If they can't come up with anything specific enough to make you comfortable (and you don't want her flipping out since you weren't psychic enough to know what she wanted), you could see if they want a Wiccan (I think, or some other Pagan religion), hand fasting, I am sure there is tons you could find about that.
