Does anyone know what colour wires go where in a ntl phone box on the wall in your house?

If you need to push the wires in to the jaws I used an old credit card with a saw  in it worked fine better that the plastic ones you an bu made from soft plastic

Hi Nocola,

as long as you put the wires in the same in each end it dont matter, but you have to use on the IDC (connector on the LJU) pins 2 & 5, thats it.. tool from DIY store.

If you need some advise, email me and ill guid you through it. it only take a few minutes if you have run the cable and have a tool.

If its the main/master socket usually the Blue wire with white rings & the white wire with blue rings, terminate on the s***w terminals. for an extension socket the wires terminate on the removable front plate on the master socket. colour code is:-

terminal 2 blue with white bands, terminal 3 orange with white bands, terminal 5 white wire with blue bands., same colours for all extension  sockets. only 3 wires needed terminals 1, 4& 6 are spare. same wiring for BT/Openreach sockets
