Does anyone know what could be wrong with my washing machine......?

It is a HE (High Efficiency) Kenmore Elite, and every time I would turn on the power button, the machine would just shut off after a minute or so. Now I cant even turn it on at all when I push the power button. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience as to what could be wrong with it.

you might try unplugging it then plugging it back in.

also check the circuit breaker that the machine is on. (the fuse box)

could be something as simple as the lid switch.

i own kenmore products also but have never experienced what's happening to you.

one other thing i would also try is to use a shorter washing cycle instead of the 16 minute cycle try the 10 minute cycle.

If you use the wrong detergent the stuff will foam up and pool up on the floor of the dryer and cause the brain to think water is leaking from the tub and shut down the system. Make sure the base of the machine is clean and dry.

One possible problem (amongst many),  is that the buttons on this model sometimes get stuck "in".  When this happens the CPU "thinks" a button is being continually pressed.

Check that one first.

Also, make sure you have power to the unit, and then unplug it for 5 minutes, then plug it back in.  This will reset the machine.  If it remains "dead" it might be the main Control Panel.  BUT, check out the link!
