I would like to start boycotting some countries if they provide gas to certain gas stations. I use Valeo, Shell, Getty, Exxon, etc. If anyone can provide a listing. For instance, I am boycotting Citco, because that comes from Venezella.

  3. opec

  4. Nigeria, Venezuela, Mexico, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, United Kingdom, Norway, Columbia, Angola, and afew others. About only 20-25% comes from US oil companies.

  5. don't know sorry.

  6. Zooks, about 30% of the NJ gasoline supply is sourced from the Gulf of Mexico and transported north via the Plantation pipeline.  The remaining 70% comes from the Middle East via tankers.  That 70% sometimes arrive as crude and sometimes as finished product.

I work of one of the companies you mentioned in your question and I can tell you, we load our trucks at terminals owned by every other company you mentioned.  It's not possible to have terminals in every area, so what we do is buy space from the other companies, just like they buy space from us.  We pump gasoline into their terminal tanks and load it from their racks.  We buy refined products from the same refineries they use.  There's no such thing as a 100% domestic oil company any more.  Marathon used to advertise that way, butt hey don't any more and I don't think anyone else can make that claim.

There's no point in boycotting any stations, because gasoline stations source their product wherever they can.  Exxon stations can have gasoline that was sourced from a Shell refinery, or a Citgo refinery, or even a Saudi refinery.  There's no way of knowing where that gasoline you're using was sourced, unless you were able to track at a minimum terminal activity, which no retailer would let you do.

Citgo and Exxon corporate has made all the money they're going to make off that gasoline after it leaves the terminal.  The only person making money on it at that point is the station owner and honestly, they aren't making more than a nickel a gallon.

Lots of West Coast retailers have gasoline sourced from Russia and Alaska now.  East Coast retailers have gasoline primarily from the Gulf of Mexico and the Middle East.  The Midwest and south are primarily sourced from the Gulf of Mexico, since imported oil would have to travel into the country's interior to be used, which isn't cost effective.  Venezuelan gasoline accounts for less than 2% of the US sales.

  7. Countries supplying petroleum for gas...Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq, Iran, Venesuella, Canada, Mexico, Nigeria, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Azerbijan...

But it's not the countries that should concern you. it's the oil COMPANIES. Shell provides mercenaries and weapons to the government of Nigeria to use on its populace. Exxon poisons the jungles of Central and South America. Gulf, Shell and Esso but oil from Saudi Arabia, and help support that countries despotic regime. Do some research. If Hugo Chavez of Venesuella is so  bad, why did the US government try to have the CIA kidnap him? Twice?

  8. i know that iraq supplies oil for some of them.

    i think its shell?

  9. if I'm not mistaken BP aka ARCO  is from the UK (BP = British Petroleum)

Conoco i think is from south america

  10. Iraq - - the bush family is in the middle of a contract with them.

  11. Big pipeline through Europe from

    Russia

  12. Not sure but you are correct in boycotting Venezuelan oil such as Citgo. I hear they are changing the name soon to something with the word 'Petro' in it but I can't remember the other word. The reason for the change is to dupe American consumers because so many wise Americans have already stopped buying Citgo. Also I never buy Mobil or Exxon because they are the largest and they are very blatant in their boasting record profits while the typical hard working consumer is busting their butt just to pay for their 'liquid gold'.

What a rip off the oil and gas industry has become and the worst part is the typical consumer believes their ridiculous BS stories about the reasons for the price escalation. Why the heck don't they decrease their profits and lower the price rather than throw it in our face by outwardly bragging about their HUGE profits? I am curious what happened to the movement to boycott Citgo, Mobil / Exxon so the huge decline in sales would force them to lower their prices and then the competition would have to follow suit in order to get their fair share of the business.

PS... I can telll Oiler is an oil industry employee. Why on earth does Mobil/Exxon boast record profits if there is no sense in boycotting them at the pumps? Also why is the plan already in the works for Venezulan dictator Chavez to open a totally new line of retail stations with a new name other than Citgo if there is no sense boycotting? It has already hit them where it hurts, in their fat bank accounts at his own admission. It is also a known fact that the profits from the sale of Citgo gas ends up in Venezuela. (other than a few pennies per gallon that the retailer makes) The idiot dictator Chavez even says so.  Try to sell your BS line to someone who is gullable. If you see a station with a Mobil or Exxon ar Citgo sign that station is owned by that big oil company and leased to an individual retailer. It makes absolutely no sense to think it does no good to boycott a particular brand.

  13. Honestly, just about every oil company that supplies oil to US gas stations has operations in most of the big petroleum-producing countries all over the world.  So it's really hard to say.
