you buy the plan from verizon not the phone, phone brands are companies like LG and motorolla. Sprint and Verizon are networks and the phones available are the phones compatiable with Verizon

Don't get the Samsung Glyde. It's heat sensitive so if it's in a hot area, your touch screen could go wack. The newest phone they have out right now is the LG Dare. I have the Dare and it's good. The whole thing is touch screen so it doesn't open up. It's small and thin. When you text, there are like 3 different ways to text. It could be the normal way (to get to C, press 1 three times, etc), a full QWERTY keyboard, or writing it by writing a letter and it'll put that letter into a text. You can add songs onto the phone using Rhapsody or whatever. The charger is a USB cable and the part where you stick it into the wall. The USB cable part detaches from the part where you stick into the wall and you can actually charge your phone using a computer! I've done it many times. The camera is like a normal camera, you hold the phone sideways and when you push the button, there are different shutter noises. I chose this cute one that says, ready one two three, and it takes it. You can draw on the pictures that you took. When you listen to music, you can turn the phone on its side or upside down and the whole screen will flip that way. It's kind of like the iPhone but it's not. I like it and everybody who saw it either thought it was the iPhone or they were like, d**n I love your phone. If you want more info, just email me or whatever.

i have the dare and it's awesome. i have no complaints about it. except the case but not everything's perfect. other than that, vzw doesn't really have any other phones. voyagers pretty nice but that's old. blackberry curve is sweeeeet so i'd consider that. the glyde is nice but touch screen sucks. other than that, there's really nothing.
