Does anyone know what is the best way to clean a sponge air filter on a supermoto?

i always used tide or dawn and lots and lots of water. chemical or pertol based cleaner will make sponge deteriorate even faster than they do normally.

You can use household washing up liquid, just make sure you wash all the washing up liquid out. Then when dry you need to spray the filter with air filter oil, you can get this from Halfords.

warm water and dish liquid and squeeze it out and let it air dry.

...And after cleaning it, be sure to leave it to dry thoroughly and then squeeze in a very small ammount of light oil before placing back into the airbox.
