As a TACP of six years, I think I can help answer your question:

Yes.  The training is hard.  Physical training is especially tough, but alot of guys struggle with the academics, as well.  Check out ROMAD.com for more info.  Specifically, look at the TACP 411 tab and click on FAQ.  There's a link on that page to more info about the school house.  Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be glad to help ya out.  Good luck.
