Does anyone know what it is like to teach English in The Czech Republic?

I read that one needs to arrive with at least $3'000. US to get set up and live on until the first paycheck. Is this accurate? Do they ever pay or reimburse for the Teacher's airfare?

It sounds pretty accurate.  Frankly, schools in the Czech Republic simply do not have the money to reimburse for airfare.  Also, in many cases, a person must personally go to the Czech Republic to interview for jobs, but it is no guarantee that the person will be hired.  Depending on where you're from, your government might provide some sort of grants to help you.  I know that in America, there are programs like the Fullbright Scholars Program which provides money to successful applicants.
