I'm a cardinal fan and when i went to see some of the transactions online, it said a played had been reassigned. I was just curious what it meant. I hope I don't sound like a complete idiot.

  1. YES U R A COMPLETE IDIOT

  2. When a player is reassigned, He is being sent to the minors and not to any specific one it could be AAA, AA or even A .its more like limbo till they actually put him somewhere its used basically to make room on the major league roster, the player can even sometimes still be with the parent club but can not play because he is not on there active roster, I.E player A is assigned to make room for player b coming off the disabled list and there could be a player c coming off the disabled list but they are unsure if they will activate him or they might even be working on a trade for a player on the big club.

  3. It means the player has been placed in the minors.
