Does anyone know what kind of gelatin is in the LEONARDI'S PIZZA CO: CREAMY RANCH GARLIC SAUCE?

  1. who know why would anyone know that you would probably have to see if there was a web site for the pizza company and see if you can contact them and ask them


  2. if the ingredient list says "gelatin;" then you can be assured that it is animal-derived protein gelatin.  The best source for gelatin is beef, though poultry and pork produce it as well, the beef gelatin is sturdier and more stable and therefore in most common commerical use.

    So, if this is a vegetarian issue -- no, it's not strictly vegetarian.  Vegetarian thickeners are gums (arabic, mastic), carrageenan (from Irish moss, a type of seaweed), agar agar, aspic (agar), arrowroot, cornstarch and other more obvious vegetable sources.

  3. Ingredients

    3 cloves garlic, minced

    1/2 cup onion, minced

    1/4 cup sugar

    1/4 cup red wine vinegar

    1/2 cup olive oil

    2 cups mayonnaise

    salt and pepper

    2 teaspoons dry mustard

    1 tablespoon fresh oregano, minced

    1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped

    Directions

    1) combine all ingredients and whisk until thoroughly blended and then CHILL.

    2) Serve on green salads, Enjoy.
