My Hotwater tank is flashing fast and when it does that it means "call for heat" I have no clue what that means...It is making a funny noise when it turns on and stays on when it is running..it sounds almost like the fan ...but do they even have that? I am lost when it comes to this and would like to avoid call someone if possible..we are very short on cash so would like to try to fix myself...can anyone help me out?

  1. I have seen units in South Florida that cool the garage and make hot water for the heater?

  2. What about calling Your local hardware store where they sell the same model as You have & ask them for information. They may even have a manual for the unit they could email You the information about this "problem". Hope it works out for You.

  3. No, I don't but maybe you can locate the manufactures' number on the water tank, (there should be a sticker on there), or google the manufacturers name and get the # and call them and tell them what your tank is reading and they should be able to assist you in figuring out what the problem is. It may even be under warranty or be simple or free to fix. If it is going to be expensive then, just take the diagnosis elsewhere to maybe a person in the newspaper to save $$!! Great luck to you!!

  4. Hi!

I hope pinspeed1 is correct, I would try and call the manufacture just so you can confirm that. I might be just lucky you heard it this time and every other time it just happens when know one is around.

Try this site to see if it helps:

  5. nope, sorry

  6. it means your water is cooler than the set temperature of the water heater.

therefore your water heater is "CALLING FOR HEAT" and warming your water.

    this is normal...
