  1. nothing that happen to me I have the address where she live work and the police said that they have to many cases

  2. go to www.doj.gov. There is an identity theft form. It is a federal offense. She can be prosecuted. I hope your mom has checked her credit report recently. If not she needs to check all 3 and dispute anything not hers and add it to the report. You are also entitled to financial compensation from the offender if you can find her and have her served with court papers. You can also check with your mom's bank to see if they offer identity theft services. Many banks now do.

  3. First of all, file a police report in your home city. After that contact SS and the nearest FBI in your state. Also, contact each of the 3 credit reporting companies and put a fraud alert on your account. Call the police in the city of the perp and ask them to either question her or arrest her. Have as many facts ready as possible. Contact the FBI in that state also.

    Good Luck!

  4. Report it to the local Social Security Administration and the US Attorney's office; this is a federal offense and could cause your mother other problems because of identity theft.

  5. From what I've been told by people, it's a tough fight.  If the IRS goes after your mother for earned income she basically has to prove that it's not her.

Her recourse is to contact the FBI and IRS when she has concrete proof of the other person's criminal activity.
