Does anyone know what the best plants for producing oxygen are?

I was wondering what plants give off the highest rate of oxygen?

I think it would be good for people to know.

Maybe if more people start to plant some in their gardens we can do a small service to the environment.

Blue-green algae. Wernher von Braun though it could supply oxygen for a space station.

Actually, what most people think is that the air comes from large forests, like the rain forest.  This is not true.  The largest percentage of the world's oxygen comes from microscopic plankton and algae that are in the oceans.
