Does anyone know what the cheapest version of photoshop is?

  1. Photoshop elements is probably the cheapest type you can get, I have it and it cost about $150, I think the version is 3.0 but I'm not sure. It's pretty good for doing simple things but if you wanna do really complex stuff it probably isn't your best bet.  But for me it works great and I like it even more than photoshop cs3 because I got that about 5 months ago and it's a little confusing for me.


  2. GIMP (www.gimp.org) is a good _free_ photo editor

    expect to pay 300-500$ for the full version of photoshop.    Be aware though if you use it at work, the license ALLOWS for you to also install a copy on your home computer provided that both copies aren't generally in use at the same time.

  4. Elements is the cheapest, it does not do everything that CS3 does.  Try Elements if you are just starting out that is probably the best way to go.
