  1. That port is only used by the technician when you send the media center to Bose (or are lucky enough to get one coming to your house). They connect a device that give them some status on the system, kind of the same gadget is used when you take your car to the service shop. They might also use this port to download software to the unit but all through the special gadget they use for servicing your system.

    As far as I know you cannot use this port for anything else. You can shot an email to Bose for more details.
