Does anyone know what the "Surf Sale" is?

i live in Brevard county, FL, and i heard of something called the surf sale where there's a lot of clothes and things from the surf clothing companies are on sale really cheap. if anyone knows what this is, can you tell me when and where they are? thank you!

wenever they hav lots of old stuff they didnt sell they do it

rarely, but sometimes companies sell new products, just to see how popular it is

It's probably a sample sale.  Surf wear is marketed to stores by manufacturer's reps.  These reps are like independent contractors who have to buy samples of all of the clothes from the manufacturers and get a commission on orders from the stores.  They will usually sell their samples after a clothing season is over in order to recover the cost of having to buy them in the first place.  Lots of time the reps will get together to have their sample sales in order to increase the amount of customers.
