In order from strictest standards for countries to the one with loosest standards. The top ten would be great! My dad and I have a disagreement on what they are.

  1. Still not sure what you mean by standards. The country with the highest emissions is the USA followed by the EU, then China (although China may now be second and is predicted to exceed the US in November)

2002 World total CO2 emissions (thousand metric tonnes) 24,126,416 (Does not include natural CO2 emissions)

    Top 6 countries:

    1 States 24.3 %

    2 European Union 15.3 %

    3 China 14.5 %

    4 Russia 5.9 %

    5 India 5.1 %

    6 Japan 5.0 %

You might also like to look at the per-capita figures, which reflect the average carbon footprints of residents in those countries, and the ratio of carbon emissions to GDP, which reflects the carbon intensity of the economy.
